Throbbing Scar

Kindred spirits kindle candle-lit moments caressing confessions of love

But battered fools beckon for better bestowals before falling…

Victims to vicarious vanities.

Yet my soul now suffers
Suspended in sacrificial soliloquy
Since your seductive serenades stopped.

Its been too long…

Now my mind is like a fettered web
With vanished thoughts wrapped in your empty bed…

And my body is a poisoned ocean
With bruised flesh spoiled by your toxic love potion.

See, for my heart is a throbbing scar
With bloody stitches torn by your probing fingers from afar.

My lips are parched black roses
With blistered thorns protruding like your treacherous horns…

And now my eyes are like shattered stars
With shards of pearl light lost in the fires of your callous words.

I confess I cannot go on
I carelessly collided into cupid’s arrow
Now your cancerous love has corroded my copious world.

Could God but cut me gracefully that I may never see you again?
