Artificially Tempting
Can you see that light illuminating the heavens?
It brings false hope to the hearts of men
I no longer can …
see my path lying
Between the world of the damned and the world of man
I had no choice
In the world of angels
Where beauty masks silent sadness
I broke free
I fought for my independence
Thus crept in my heart a darker malice
For on this path I trampled…
I bled
So I sought the flames of Hades
To purge my soulless body of love
A love that deludes the lost ones above me
I fashioned new wings
With feathers to match my sins
For the smoke that haunts my breath
Bares witness to my hell
And as I can see your quivering fright
I can smell your fear of mortality
For I am now the angel of death,
Azriel
But do not approach me
For my beauty, my youth
Are but an illusion
Artificially tempting…

For So Long
/-~*~-/
Desmond left the still-deserted nightclub in a slightly worse mood then he had entered it,
which he hadn't thought possible. He was begining to wonder if he should follow through
with this, but he knew he had to. If Ivan stayed, Aric was sure to show up, sooner or later,
and then things would be out of hand. He also knew that he was the only one Ivan would
listen to. Why else would he have come all this way to tell Desmond that he had broken the
seal?
The fallen angel glanced down several times at the napkin that had been crumpled and
smoothed many times in his hand, sure that he was

Bitter Reunions

Desmond wasn't even aware that he had fallen asleep, but when he woke up the room was
pitch black and dark. He shifted a little and felt something beside him. He was still for a long
time until the sound of Ethan's steady breaths reached his ears. The demon was asleep and
Desmond didn't want to wake him, so he climbed out of the bed as quietly as possible. He
didn't bother with finding the light switch, he knew his way around perfectly in the dark.
He found that his shoes were still by the door. Slipping them on he opened the door as
quietly as possible, but he knew that Ethan was

Desmond's eyes watered slightly and he continued to try to get a proper breath from the
hit. He looked up at the one who had spoken and his green eyes grew wide. "Aric."
The renagade demon wore a grin that never seemed to go away, baring needle-like white
fangs. He wasn't very tall and was built lithe and slender, but his size was nothing. He had
black and silver hair that fell to his shoulders. He wore no shirt, revealing his heavily scarred
bare torso, only wearing a pair of black leather pants that fit his slender legs like a second
skin. His eyes were red and slitted so thinly that

He asked me to write a poem for his character Azriel (above) named after the angel of death by his creator.
As he puts it: The title "Artificially tempting" explains how beautiful he is artificially...also a metaphor for how beautiful he is on the outside, but ugly on the 'inside'. Typically he's a bad boi...usually he smokes but people don't like to see that much.
I hope you like it for I will not be revising this piece as I have revised "To Never Return" [link] so many times.
